I grew up in South Africa, spending most of my childhood camping, hiking and playing sport. After completing a BSc in Agriculture at the University of Natal, I moved on to veterinary school, graduating in 1998. My veterinary career has taken me all over the world. After a short stint in South Africa in mixed practice, I moved to the UK for a year. I then moved to the Middle East and ran a practice in Saudi Arabia treating horses and small animals. Here I developed an interest in equine stud work and took up a job on New Zealand’s South Island where I gained extensive experience and had the opportunity to kayak, run, and cycle across some beautiful wilderness and more importantly it was here that I met my wife Lucy, who hailed from Devon.

The next few years saw me following the stud season between the northern hemisphere (UK and Ireland) and the southern hemisphere (Australia and New Zealand). After settling in equine practice in Epping for a period, I moved on to work in the veterinary industry and more recently for a Bill Gates funded organisation supporting veterinary vaccines in Africa. I am delighted to have joined Blaircourt along with Mark, Ralph and the wonderful team.

Outside of work I spend as much time as I can with Lucy and our two boys Thomas and Benjamin, which usually involves rugby, football, cricket and being outdoors. When I get a spare moment, you will find me out cycling or running.
